“Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:13-14).
THIS is my highlight of the past week of Seven4Seven. Especially those last twelve words, including the not-so-easily-done “be still.” Although I’m certain there are times when we’re called to ACTION, I wonder how many more times God is saying “BUTT OUT AND SIT STILL FOR A SECOND, WILL YA?” I’m more of a doer than a waiter. That’s probably half of my problem.
If God can deliver 600,000 Israelites (not counting women and children), without them lifting so much as a hand to manipulate their own salvation, maybe this week I can work on being comfortable with a little stillness?
