A Generous Calm

Jan 24, 2009

I asked someone two days ago to tell me his greatest need. Not a grandiose lifelong need, but his greatest real need. Right now. This moment. I didn’t expect his answer:

“Calmness.”

Being that I’m in his life, I couldn’t help but wonder if I am, on the whole, meeting his need for calm, or detracting from it. Then yesterday, I saw THIS. A simple post by Seth Godin, that ended up feeling like the “2” of a 1-2 punch.

Where I want to be and where I currently stand aren’t one and the same plot point. But I hope I’m moving that general direction.

How about you?

And did you notice that generosity and calmness seem to work well together?
