I’m scheduling this post for two Sunday nights from now, knowing that by the time you read it I’ll be on the other side of my trip to Haiti.
That blows my mind. The whole idea of time, circumstance, change and the fact that we can’t rush the clock or predict what is the come. The beauty in this, the reassurance to my soul, is the fact that there is a constancy. Even in the midst of all the unknowns, there is One whose heart is in pursuit of mine. Of yours. Of yet-nameless individuals I’ll meet in Haiti. God stands firm forever, regardless of what tomorrow holds.
“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever. You who bring good tidings to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, ‘Here is your God!'” ~ Isaiah 40:7-9
