You know when you have crazy good news but you can’t share it? And then, after keeping a lid on it for too many weeks, you feel like a tupperware container filled with too many mashed potatoes?
Exactly. I’m at the bursting point.
But I have good news for the good news: It’s finally time to spill it.
Several months ago my co-worker and good friend Michael Hyatt approached me with a new idea: a complete revamp of his podcast. Now you need to know his podcast has been wildly successful since he launched it two years ago. It’s had over 5 million downloads (yes, million) and is consistently rated in the top 10 of all business podcasts on iTunes. Impressive.
Even so, being a leader, creative and entrepreneur, he knew it was time for a change. A radical change. The best endeavors (and products, businesses and relationships) only get better if you’re willing to try something new, change things up from time to time. In this case, he decided to move from a monologue-based podcast to a conversation. In short, he wanted to hire a co-host.
That’s when he called me.
I’m thrilled to announce starting July 9, I will be the new co-host of Michael Hyatt’s This is Your Life podcast.
(don’t worry. my chin is hanging out on the floor right next to yours.)
For the past couple months, we’ve been working together to create content I think you’re going to love. Once a week, we’ll be talking about leadership, business, family, personal development, messaging, and designing your dream life—the core subjects of Michael’s platform. Personally, I love how Michael’s heart and message fit well with “Making Peace With An Imperfect Life.” It was a natural fit for me. And, with you there, it’s going to feel like we’re all sitting around a table, sharing honest conversations about what matters most.
I can not wait.
As for this blog, I’m not going anywhere. You’ll still see me posting regular content, and I’ll still be doing life with you on Facebook and Instagram. But how about subscribing to the podcast on iTunes, where the conversation will be a bit more intimate? Or, if you prefer to watch the videos (did I mention we’re doing video as well as audio?), you can find them on Michael’s website once we launch.
In the meantime, here’s a little tease of what’s to come.
Thank you for sharing in my news, friends. Who would’ve thought four months ago that I would be embarking on a new project? And one that involves speaking?! As excited as I am at this opportunity, I’m even more amazed at a God who heals diseases, parts Red Seas, and makes a girl’s small little dreams come true. Nothing but grace and mercy. In abundance.
It’s an adventure, isnt’ it? Glad you’re with me.
Do you listen to podcasts? If so, what are some of your favorites?
